Hairdressing Alternative Provision
Hairdressing alternative provision can be delivered either on-site or at our centre in The Secret Warehouse. The number of days will be agreed upon at the outset with the school and our experienced team.
Depending on hours of attendance, pupils may be able to achieve Level 1 Introduction to the hair and beauty sector. Units include:
- Health and Safety in the salon
- Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
- Presenting a professional image in the salon
- Reception duties
- Shampoo and blow drying
- Dry Styling
- Basic Make up application
- Employability Skills
Bespoke programmes can be written to meet the needs of both pupils and the school. An example of this is a school piloting hairdressing alternative provision with a group of pupils attending 2 hours per week in the first year. As the hours are not enough to meet the guided learning hours of the qualification. A bespoke programme has been written for year one. The programme delivered will mirror some of the units in the qualification. And will make the transition to qualifications effective.
