Mode delivers Alternative Provision in a number of schools across Liverpool City Region using a variety of models.

Good alternative provision as defined by Department for Education ensures all pupils regardless of their circumstances or settings should have the opportunity to achieve good educational attainment. And that pupils’ specific personal, social, and academic needs are properly identified and met to help them overcome any barriers to attainment.

You can read and download all relevant policies and procedures here.

Not all young people fit into mainstream education

With more than 20 years’ experience delivering alternative provision. We understand not all young people fit into mainstream education.  We also know a young person attending alternative provision in year 10 and 11, which effectively meets their needs, and significantly increases the opportunities available to them.

School on-site provision

On-site provision is currently delivered in hairdressing and music technology.  During the planning process, support is provided to ensure rooms used for delivery are fit for purpose.  Our experienced staff can support the school with purchasing equipment e.g. if setting up a hairdressing salon and/or music studio on the school premises.

Off-site attendance at Mode

Alternatively, pupils can attend Mode either as individuals or as a whole school group.  Attendance is 1 or 2 days per week.  All pupils work towards recognised qualifications as agreed with the school. Maths and English if required can be delivered as functional skills.

Bespoke Offer

Every school and every pupil is an individual and will have different needs. Our experienced team will arrange to meet with each school to discuss their requirements and put together a detailed proposal and Service Level Agreement.

Ofsted and Safeguarding

Mode Training is an Ofsted Grade 2 accredited Independent Training Provider.  All staff have been recruited through our Safer Recruitment procedure and attend at a minimum annual safeguarding training.  We have robust safeguarding systems and procedures with all staff fully utilising the My Concern platform to report any concerns.

Individual Learning Plan and Progress Reports

All learners have a full induction, with an individual learning plan drawn up at the start of their programme.  And for those learners with additional learning needs an additional meeting is arranged with our support co-ordinator to ensure the programme will meet their learning needs.

End of term progress reports are sent out to parents/carers and the school link at the end of each term.
