Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hair Professional

This level 3 advanced creative hair professional is aimed at those looking to enhance the skills learned at level 2. Providing you with the skills you need to reach the pinacle of your hairdressing career.

Entry requirements

Level 2 hairdressing qualification and trade test. At your interview it will be determined if your technical skills meet the required standard to progress from level 2 to level 3.

Course length

12 to 15 months depending on previous experience and apprentice progress.

Once you have completed your qualification you will enter the gateway in preparation for your End Point Assessment (EPA).

End Point Assessment – EPA

EPA of mandatory skills, knowledge and behaviours specified in the standard. This will be via practical observation and questioning, knowledge test and professional discussion. The practical assessment and oral questioning will include:

Consultation skills

You will require one model and undertake 2 services:

Create one precision cut and finish from your personal collection of hair style looks
Completed one advanced creative colour conversion service on previousley coloured hair.

The observation and questioning should take five hours. This may be split into discrete sections held over a maximum of one working day. (Length of a working day is typically considered to be 7.5 hours).

Costs and funding

Course costs £5,000. The costs of training and assessment are usually paid for by government funding, with contributions from the employer. The course can also be paid for privately.
