World Mental Health Day 2025

On October 10th, Mode Training will join organisations everywhere in recognising World Mental Health Day 2025. A reminder of how important mental health is for everyone, especially young people. This year’s theme is “access to services — mental health in catastrophes and emergencies.” The theme emphasises how people need mental health support even when the world feels unstable. Why This Matters to Learners

Even when young people are not directly impacted by global crises. The exposure to news, conflict, or emergencies can heighten stress, anxiety, or feelings of overwhelm. The Mental Health Foundation talks about how repeated exposure to crisis news can take a toll on emotional wellbeing.

At Mode Training, we believe that mental health in education is as critical as academic or technical development. Our goal is to make sure every learner feels safe, supported, and understood. And this support remains regardless of what is happening in the world around them.

How Mode is Supporting Learner Wellbeing

We are committed to integrating mental health support into every aspect of our training programmes. Here’s how we are doing it:

  • Wellbeing check-ins & mentoring: Regular conversations ensure young people have the confidence to speak when they are struggling.
  • Teaching young people critical thinking skills: We want young people to think for themselves — to question, check, and understand what’s real and what’s fake online.
  • Promoting support services: Learners can access links to support through our learners support page. And by scanning the QR codes on posters displayed around the centre.
  • Raising awareness & coping skills: Our enrichment programme promotes strategies to manage stress, limit exposure to overwhelming news, and build coping skills.
  • Encouraging open conversations: We encourage learners and staff to talk openly about mental health, to reduce stigma. And most importantly, to remind each other: you are not alone.

“Talking is good for your mental health,” according to the Mental Health Foundation — and Mode Training is committed to creating spaces where those conversations can happen freely and safely. Mental Health Foundation
