Nervous 17 year old

Amelia started at Mode as a nervous 17-year-old not knowing where to start with DJing.  With the support of all the staff she soon settled in and started to work on her DJ skills.  Amelia says “The tutors made it so simple and easy for me to understand, bit by bit we worked on the complicated things and soon with their support my confidence grew.  The tutors were amazing and so patient”

Amelia’s skills soon developed creating a SoundCloud profile, recording live mixes and building her social media profile.

By December 2018 Amelia had secured a Friday night residency in Graffiti.  New Year’s Eve 2018 saw Amelia as a special guest at Haus Night club.  Early 2019 saw Amelia’s name popping up across the city lining up with some of the best known DJ’s including Anton Powers, Billie Clements and Ant Armstrong.

O Club Ibiza

The summer of 2019 one of Amelia’s dreams came true playing a set at O Beach Ibiza, she really had hit the big time and was starting to become noticed across the city and beyond.

Since then, she has been given some amazing opportunities including playing a set for Anton Powers for the Rave Cave and sees this gig as being her big break.

One Night Only

Amelia’s skills and confidence were growing, and she decided with the support of Ant Armstrong to launch an event called “One Night Only” 7 events followed using different destinations as the theme for the events New York, Miami, Las Vegas.  All sold out and were a huge success.  Then came the pandemic and things started to change.

Pure

Amelia’s partnership with Ant Armstrong enabled her to push the boundaries and grow the brand. Never afraid to take a risk they wanted to bring something new to the party scene in Liverpool.  Pure Class was born hosting weekend brunches, it was just what everyone needed with each event selling out in minutes.

Lockdown was also an ideal opportunity to build the brand even further with Pure Fest and most recently they have launched a personalised clothing range Pure La Vesta. The range brings their love of music and fashion together, with each individual piece oozing Liverpool classy club scene.

What next?

2021 is a big year for Amelia both personally and with the brand.  September will see another dream of Amelia’s realised when she takes to the outdoor Garlands stage at Reminisce Music Festival.   Ironically, she will join 2 of Mode music tutors Les Calvert and Vicki Scott.

Amelia is keen to keep learning. She loves nothing more than popping down to Mode for a production lesson enabling her skills to go from strength to strength.  With the support of her family and the links she is now forging across the Liverpool music scene we have no doubt Amelia has a fantastic career ahead of her.

You can catch Amelia at Jaloux and Avenue Nightclub every Saturday and download her mixes on Soundcloud.  You can also follow her across all social media platforms Amelia Preston_DJ
